Sexual Harassment Training
|
If you are a California employer with more then 50 employees or independent contractors you are required to provide sexual harassment training to your employees.
You must provide sexual harassment training to anyone who has supervisory responsibilities. Any employee that has the authority to hire, suspend, lay off, promote or discipline other employees requires your organization to provide sexual harassment training.
There are several topics an organization must cover during the training to include the following:
• Be at least two hours in length. • Be effective and interactive. • Provide information and practical guidance to learners. • Cover relevant federal and state law. • Explain prohibitions against and the prevention and correction of sexual harassment. • Examples to instruct supervisors in the prevention of harassment, discrimination and retaliation. • Describe remedies available to victims of sexual harassment.
California employers must continue to provide regular training on sexual harassment and all forms of unlawful harassment to all employees—including supervisors and non supervisors. |
